Level One: Light Restoration
Light Restoration includes basic sharpening and brightening to enhance the clarity of an image. Dust spots and scratches are removed. Repairs are made to minor damage on edges and background areas of the image.

The first image shown was sharpened and brightened considerably. The original photograph was washed out. The background was darkened and smoothed to allow the figure to stand out. Minor blemishes on the photo were removed or softened. The original image was scanned by the owner as a low resolution jpg file. Sometimes, even with a low resolution jpg photo, we can improve the image considerably.
The second image is a Airforce portrait that just needed some brightening in certain areas & touchups. We went in and eliminated numerous dust spots/white specks and a few minor scratches to the background. |

This third image of a gentlemant next to his backhoe is another photo that was scanned at a very low resolution jpg file. The photo was taken on a bright sunny day so it was very washed out... especially in the background area. We darkened the background. We were able to sharpen and brighten each area of the photo, as needed.

The fourth image is a restoration of a little girl made from a photo that was taken of a photograph with a low resolution camera. Again, we were able to sharpen, brighten and enhance the background as needed to bring out the subject. We brought out the detail in the dress wherethere had been no visible detail what-so-ever. You may also notice the client didn't want the child in striped socks, so we eliminated that, as well.
